A new exhibition at POSK Gallery:
Ten Polish artists are sending - "A message from the Polish Manchester".
Organisers of the exhibition are "ArtGo" studio and gallery from Lodz in Poland.
The curators are artists themselves Marta Fuks-Frankiewicz, Malgorzata Brongoszewska and Rafal Frankiewicz who invited other artists to participate in the project. The aim was to portray the heritage of the industrial city of Lodz, hence the 'Polish Manchester'.
Their motto is Dostoyewski's famous statement: "True art is always contemporary”

Biographies of artists:
Agata Mikina
Closely connected with animated film for the past 24 years. Animator, layout specialist, character designer and film set designer. A self-educated painter. Animates the paintings of the great masters.
Anna Szumigaj–Badziak
Graduate (1990) of the State University of Plastic Arts in Łódź, Graphics Faculty. An advocate of applied graphics and painting. A teacher in the fields of painting, composition and graphic design at the Institute of Textile Architecture of the Łódź Polytechnic University. AXA graphics studio.
Jacenty Jończyk
Born in 1955 in Kłobuck. He studied art at the University of Plastic Arts in Częstochowa. A graduate of the class directed by Professor Andrzej Niekrasz. Postgraduate computer studies at the Częstochowa Polytechnic University. His artistic activities centre on easel painting and wall painting. During the course of his artistic career, he has presented his work at five individual exhibitions and a few dozen collective exhibition.
Jakub Werfel
Jakub E. Werfel, known affectionately as "Ducky", was born in 1978 in Łódź. In the years 2001-2009 he studied at the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. During this time, he embarked on his quest concerning humanity and spirituality. In 2009, he started to paint his findings, while at the same time trying to determine the best means of expression and develop them.
This is nature painting, the "Secret of Truth".
Karolina Antczak
Born in 1973 in Sieradz. A graduate of the Artistic Faculty of the Higher School of Pedagogy in Częstochowa. An advocate of painting and drawing. For her, painting is a way of expressing admiration for the existing material world, enriched with the fruits of her own imagination. This is not so much a compulsion, as a need to draw out images that combine the play of fantasy with the surrounding world.
Magdalena Kempa
Magdalena Kempa was born in Łódź, Poland. From early childhood, she grew up in close contact with art circles. She made her first steps in her father's studio, and then for four years attend private drawing, painting and sculpture classes. A student of Professor Pacanowski and Professor Michalak at the Łódź Academy of Fine Arts. In 1983, she settled permanently in Germany. She uncovered new features in a wide range of acrylic paints, structurally diverse substrates, and mixed techniques. Her favourite themes include Mediterranean landscapes and architecture, still life, the flora and fauna of the Caribbean as well as folklore and music. Her painting are realistic, sometimes surreal, but rarely abstract. They are characterized by an expressive, aesthetic form, and full of lively colours.
Maria Grzegorczyk–Witkowska
A painter who specialises in watercolour landscapes. Awarded a scholarship by the Minister of Culture and Art. Her expressive watercolour landscapes can be found in both national and foreign collections.
Marta Fuks-Frankiewicz
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Her means of expression include both painting and sculpture. In her works, she strives to capture the essence of that which is fleeting and transient. Her sculpture shows a fascination with the human body, while her paintings are inspired by the ethereal beauty of landscapes.
Rafał Frankiewicz
A sculptor who is fascinated with the beauty of the human body, and in particular with feminine sensuality. Proprietor of his own Sculpture Studio.
Weronika Psotta ‘Nika ‘
Veronica Psotta, known to friends as "Nika", was born in Nowogrodziec, Poland. For 6 years, she attended the School of Artistic Crafts in Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój and Jelenia Góra. Under the tutelage of Professor Bolesław Zarzycki, she mastered drawing and sculpture. She has been living in Germany since 1984. In 2002, she rediscovered an intense lover for painting. Under the instruction of Ducan Jovanovic, she studied acrylic and watercolour painting. Painting is a mirror that reflects her inner soul.
